Not going anywhere during a school break?  Want to take classes with us but live too far away?  Now is your chance to spend a few fun-filled days immersed in theatre. Spend your nights at Pheasant Run Resort and Spa with your family swimming and dining while you spend your days on the stage!  Your parents can enjoy golfing, our fitness center and Mario Tricoci Hair Salon and Day Spa.  Local residents welcome.  Room, meals and amenities not included.

3-DAY MUSICAL THEATRE BOOT CAMP: “CATS”

Ages: 8 to 18

Classes: Daily 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

November 24 – November 26, 2008

Showcase: November 26 at 3:00 pm

Tuition: $250

Musical Instructor: Ken Jones

Dance Instructor: Helen Buck

Performers in this group will memorize selected scenes, lines, songs and choreography for this 15-minute showcase performed for family and friends.  Students develop their artistic voice, both individually and within an ensemble. Learn audition technique for musical theatre with equal emphasis on singing and dancing. Participation will increase self-confidence and boost self-esteem.

 

3-DAY ACTING BOOT CAMP: “HARRY POTTER” AND “DIARY OF ANNE FRANK”

Ages: 8 to 18

Classes: Daily 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

December 29 – December 31, 2008

Showcase: December 31, 2008 at 3:00 pm

Tuition: $250

Instructor: Tracy Whiteside

Each day we will focus on a different aspect of acting skills: Monologues, Audition Technique, Improv, TV Commercials and Scenes. Participation will boost self-esteem and improve reading skills. Scenes from these popular shows will be used.  No singing or dancing.

 

SPRING BREAK ON-CAMERA BOOT CAMP: Commercials, TV, Film

Ages: 8 to 18

Classes: Daily 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

March 30-April 3, 2009

Showcase: Saturday, April 4 at 11:00 am

Tuition: $195

Instructor: NFT STAFF

This fun on-camera class will unleash creativity while building acting skills and self-confidence. Students will learn the important differences between stage and on-camera acting. This course explores the skills necessary to audition and act for commercials, TV, and films. Students will learn to perfect their slate, make concrete acting "choices" and how to "own" their audition.  Includes on-camera review and video playback.  There will be supervision during the lunch hour for students also enrolled in the Theatre Acting Boot Camp.

Ages: 8 to 18

Classes: Daily 1:00 – 4:00 pm

Showcase: Saturday, April 4 at 2:00 pm

Instructor: NFT STAFF

This fun class is designed for non-professionals as well as serious actors interested in sharpening their basic skills. All class members will improve confidence and public speaking skills.  Classes will assist actors in enhancing techniques they can use for any stage performance. Participants explore and perform scenes from this popular play. Character behavior, physical characteristics and emotions are also examined.  There will be supervision during the lunch hour for students also enrolled in the On-Camera Boot Camp.
